How to: Create and schedule product sales
Creating product sales are a great way of increasing sales, boosting revenue or getting through old stock. No matter the reason, you can schedule sales in a few clicks here at Advercado. Lets take a look and the steps to creating a product sale.
To create and schedule a sale head to:
- Vendor dashboard
- Products
- Select and edit the product
Depending on the product type, you can approach creating a sale in a couple of different ways.
Variable Products
First, let’s look at variable products. Edit the product and head to Listing Specifics.
Now open each variation you wish to create and schedule a sale on. You can apply sales to just some or all of the variations you offer. Open the variation, enter the sale price, select the schedule option.
Now you can enter the dates you want to run your sale. The scheduler will automatically start and finish the sale based on your defined dates.
It’s as easy as that. Make sure you save variations and save your product for the changes to go live.
NOTE: It is worth setting a sale price for all variations when you create your products so you can use the variation manager to schedule a sale for all variations. Once you have created sale prices for all variations, you can easily schedule a sale for all variations following these steps.
Select and open the dropdown box from the top of the variation list.
Select the Set scheduled sale dates option and press GO.
Now enter your dates and click OK. This will apply the sales dates to all variations in the product.
Once complete, save your variations and product so your changes take effect.
The variation manager is a great tool for quick changes. You can also use the variation manager to further increase or decrease sale prices by a percentage value, and do the same with your regular prices.
NOTE: Setting sale prices or regular prices with the variation manager will blanket all variation prices with the same value. Only use this option if your variations have the same price point.
Simple Products
Now let’s look at simple products. It is the same process as the above.
First, select your simple product and select Listing Specifics.
At the top of the page, you can enter your sale/discounted price. Once you have set your sale price, select the schedule option.
Now simply enter your sale dates and save your product for the changes to take effect.
Bookable Products
You can also schedule lower and higher costs for your bookable products. At different periods of the year, advertising spaces may have higher rates, but strategically placed cheaper pricing can help you book more reservations during the slower months.
