Using Coupons

Utilising Advercado’s coupons feature is a great way to attract new customers. Offer an exclusive discount to an existing customer or as part of a deal. No matter the reason, creating coupons for your store is easy.

In this guide, you’ll learn how to create & manage coupons.

How to Create Coupons?

To create a new coupon for your store:

Navigate to your vendor dashboard
Click on Coupons.
Then click on Add New Coupon.

Next, fill the fields with all the details and then Add New Coupon.

Essential fields at a glance

Coupon Title: Add the name you want to give your coupon. (E.g. FLASH20)
Description: In this field, you can let customers know what the coupon is about or for.
Discount Type: This drop-down lets you select between a percentage and a fixed amount discount.
Amount: Add the GBP discount amount here.
Email Restrictions: Choose to limit the coupon to certain customers if you like. If you insert an email, then only customers with that email could use the coupon.
Usage Limit: How many coupons will you create? Add the number here if you want to restrict coupon usage to a certain amount.
Expire Date: If you would like for the coupon to remain usable only up to a certain date, select the expiry date from the calendar.
Exclude Sale Items: Select this checkbox if they want to opt-out of sale items from the coupon offer.
Minimum Amount: Select the minimum amount an order should be for a customer to apply for the coupon.
Product: Select one product, multiple, or all products you want the coupon to apply to.
Apply for New Products: If you check this box, then when a customer applies this coupon for a new product, then the customer will get a discount according to that coupon.
Exclude products: Exclude the coupon from applying to a particular product or multiple products.
Show in store: Select this checkbox to display the coupon code on your storefront.

Product (Fixed Amount) Discount

The Fixed Amount Discount coupon gives you a fixed discount on the spaces, services, or items you choose. The consumer will receive the same amount of discount regardless of the total order value.

To use this option, select Product Discount from the Discount Type drop-down. Enter the total discount in the amount field. (E.G. 20.00 for £20.00)

This will also show when you view all your coupons from the Vendor Dashboard as Fixed Amount under Coupon Type.

Product Percentage (%) Discount

For qualifying products, the Product Percentage Discount applies a percentage discount to the entire order value. They will receive a discount equal to the percentage stated in the amount field.

Choose Percentage Discount from the drop-down menu to activate this option. Fill in the amount field with the total percent discount. (For example, 15 is 15%)

This will also show when you view all your coupons together from the Vendor Dashboard as Percent under Coupon Type.

Show Coupon in your Store

You can show the coupon on the store front by checking the last option on the add coupon page.
